- · Using a clean sponge or cloth, mop up the remaining spill carefully, working from the edges of the spill towards the centre. Never over wet or apply chemicals(they may lock the stain in the carpet or fabric fibres), scrub or rub too hard (this will cause abrasion of the fibres and change the physical appearance of your carpet).
